Financial Data API — Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses the Financial Data API and related tools (the “Service”), and is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.1. Use your own key, within your limits
- Keep your API keys confidential and do not share them across unrelated organizations.
- Do not exceed, evade, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits or quotas that apply to your plan, and do not distribute requests across many keys or accounts to bypass them.
- Do not probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, other accounts, or related systems, without our prior written permission.
2. Respect data rights
- Honor the source attribution returned with each observation, and comply with any terms the underlying source imposes on its data.
- Do not bulk-extract the datasets in order to recreate, resell, or redistribute a substantially similar data product that competes with or substitutes for the Service.
- Do not present derived analytics as the output of a third-party source, and do not strip or falsify provenance or rights metadata.
3. Do not misuse the Service
- Do not use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful, or to infringe the rights of others.
- Do not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, for example through excessive automated load, denial-of-service techniques, or injecting malicious code.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Do not misrepresent the Service, or use it in a way that could reasonably damage our reputation or that of the data sources.
