Financial Data API — Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 June 2026. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Financial Data API and related documentation, SDKs, and tools (together, the “Service”), operated by Financial Data API (“we”, “us”). By requesting an API key, creating an account, or otherwise accessing the Service, you (“Customer”, “you”) agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.1. The Service
Financial Data API is a read-only HTTP API that delivers macroeconomic and global-markets data: official-source indicators, interest rates, FX reference data, an economic calendar, SEC fundamentals, and derived analytics, served as JSON with provenance and rights metadata. The Service is provided overhttps://api.financialdatapi.com.
We may add, change, or remove endpoints, data, and features over time. We aim to keep
the versioned /v1 surface backward compatible and to give reasonable notice of
breaking changes, but we do not guarantee that any specific dataset, endpoint, or field
will remain available.
2. API keys and accounts
We issue one or more API keys to you. You are responsible for keeping keys confidential, for all activity under your keys, and for the security of your systems. Do not embed keys in public client-side code or public repositories. Notify us promptly at support@financialdatapi.com if you believe a key has been exposed; we will revoke and reissue it. We may rotate or revoke keys where reasonably necessary to protect the Service.3. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. We may suspend access for violations as described there.4. Data, rights, and attribution
The data served by Financial Data API is compiled from third-party sources, including government agencies, central banks, statistical offices, and other official publishers. Financial Data API’s public surface is curated to return only data that those sources make available on a public-domain or otherwise redistribution-permitted basis, together with analytics that Financial Data API derives from that data. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Service and to use the data you retrieve for your internal and product purposes, including in applications you build. You must:- preserve and honor the source attribution that accompanies each observation; and
- comply with any terms imposed by the underlying source for that data.
rights metadata and the source attribution returned with each observation
govern. We retain all right, title, and interest in the Service, the Financial Data API software, the
normalized data model, and the derived analytics, except for the limited license granted
above.
